APJCN refers to the ICMJE guidelines (https://www.icmje.org/) on the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journal for any potential conflict of interest and disclosures of authors, editors and reviewers.

 

Publisher

è Ensure that any commercial revenue or sponsorship has no influence on any part of the review process and editorial decisions.

è Responsible for the preservation and back up of the journal’s content.

è Open to any forms of scientific cooperation and discussion on relevant subjects in the scope of the journal that may advance the field

è Train editors in identifying, reviewing and assessing reported and/or suspected misconduct (conflict of interest, ethics, plagiarism)

 

Editors

è Declare any potential conflict of interest in writing when appointed and update the publisher if any changes arise.

è Not be involved in any part of the peer review process of papers written by themself, their family members or colleagues that may cause any potential conflict of interest.

è Responsible for the scientific integrity of the manuscripts assigned to them.

 

Reviewers

è Provide unbiased opinion on manuscript to aid editor in making a decision.

è Treat assigned manuscripts as confidential documents and not disclose any information.

è Alert editors on any suspected misconduct.

è Alert editors on any potential conflict of interest with the authors of the manuscript.

 

Authors

è All work submitted must be original and not published elsewhere. Translated manuscripts in other languages that are already published is unacceptable.

è Give authorship to only those who have made contribution to the manuscript.

è Avoid concurrent publication (submitting to more than one journal at the same time).

è Avoid plagiarism.

è Cite and give credit to all quotes, publications and image used. Obtain permission from the authorship when appropriate.

è State that the protocol for the research project has been approved by a suitably constituted Ethics Committee of the institution within which the work was undertaken and that it conforms to the provisions of the Declaration of Helsinki in 1995 (as revised in Edinburgh 2000). All investigations on human subjects must include a statement that the subject gave informed consent and patient anonymity should be preserved. Any experiments involving animals must be demonstrated to be ethically acceptable and where relevant conform to National Guidelines for animal usage in research.

è Declare any conflict of interest including employment in companies, consultancies, patent registrations, grant committee.

è Clearly state financial support received for their research even if the funding party(ies) did not take part in the conceptualization, design, execution and data analysis of the study.
